Strength Training is Our Armor and Defense Against Disease
Everyone knows that our muscles are necessary for body strength…but not everyone realizes that our muscles serve as our armor and defense against disease.
Once we discover that our muscular system actually makes up 50 percent of our body weight it is easier to grasp the fact that any unnecessary loss of muscle is critical to our bodies overall disease protection.
The strength of the muscular system is interconnected with the immune system functions and any reduction in physical conditioning means weakening of this system. Since the immune system is responsible for protecting us from illness and fighting off infection and foreign invaders this leaves us in a vulnerable position in regards to our health. If you believe there is nothing you can personally do to prevent cancer…think again.
Nearly 70% of those who get cancer experience it as a lifesyle disease and research studies show that out of all those who die from cancer annually, approximately 1/3 are 100% preventable and another 1/3 are preventable with early detection and proper treatment.
Those numbers are very revealing…they prove that we are empowered to reduce cancer risk by up to 2/3.

Control Your Blood Sugar Levels With Healthy, Strong Muscles
Most people have no idea how important it is to maintain stable blood sugar levels and yet they are the foundation of good health.
Blood sugar levels used to be equated with diabetics only but even those not diagnosed as diabetic yet but are borderline diabetic can experience its devastating effects on health.
When there is too much sugar in the bloodstream and the body is not able to utilize it, it produces excess insulin to help move the sugar into the muscle cells where it can be used for energy. Continue reading
Cycle of Cancer Prevention
Although poor nutrition and limited/or no physical activity are all related factors that may contribute to raising cancer risk, body weight is another factor that comes into play that seems to have the greatest effect and strongest link to cancer outside of tobacco use.
Being obese or overweight raises the risk of many cancers including gallbladder, liver, cervix, and ovary, prostate (advanced), Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
It is also been linked with increased risk of cancer in post-menopausal breast, colon and rectum, endometrium, kidney, pancreas, and esophagus.
Next to “not smoking,” the single best thing you can do to protect yourself against cancer for is to maintain a healthy weight throughout your life. Continue reading
Exercise is the Best Preventive Medicine
Equipped with a high-powered immune system and intracellular anti-oxidant defense system, the body is truly a disease killing machine when operating at peak performance.
Unfortunately for most people it isn’t.
Rather than teaching people how to cure disease (so much money spent yearly on research) we need to be educating people on how to prevent disease. Continue reading
Blueprint for Better Health includes a “Holistic” Approach…
While exercise and healthy eating are both important facets of cancer prevention and treatment, they are certainly not the only ones.
A true blueprint for better health care would include a “holistic” approach to health and wellness with additional strategies such as:
Keep your mind and thinking in good shape. Positive thinking does produce favorable results for people who have an optimistic view of life that benefits their health and well being. Negative and pessimistic thoughts can have the opposite effect.
A proper muscle building and maintenance exercise program is performed 2-3 times a week.
You and Proper Exercise are the Most Powerful Tools Against Cancer
Our sedentary lifestyles have caused many people to forget how much physical strength our bodies are actually capable of. Truth is, our bodies are not meant to be dormant…they have been designed to be highly active and vigorous, not dormant.
Although you don’t have to spend a great deal of time doing your exercise program, you do have to put some focused effort into it. Weak muscles don’t get strong on their own…they continue to weaken and your risk of disease increases.
If it does not challenge you, it will not change you. Continue reading
Countering Exercise Excuses
It’s is easy for us as humans to come up with excuses not to be active and stick to our exercise program.
These excuses appear more frequently when our motivation levels begin to wane and we lose sight of our health and fitness goals.
Despite the fact that we yearn to be strong, fit and healthy, we continue to find excuses that keep us from our exercise program.
Like the rest of us, you most likely have made a promise to yourself that you were going to start exercising tomorrow…yet tomorrow comes and goes and you are still sitting motionless on the couch. Continue reading
5 Reasons Physical Activity Prevents and Fights Disease
There isn’t a day that goes by that we are not made aware of how much our bodies need and require exercise to stay healthy and help prevent disease. Unfortunately not everyone is listening.
Without a doubt, our bodies are designed to be highly active and vigorous…not dormant. Believe it or not, the cancer risk reduction is staggering when exercise is used correctly-an estimated whopping 50 percent cancer risk reduction with little outlay in time, effort and money. It is so worth it.
Researchers are continually working to understand the reasons how physical activity not only prevents but actually fights cancer as well. Continue reading
Most Cancer is Preventable through Lifestyle Changes
Hormones are chemical messengers that are produced in specific parts of our bodies. One of the major functions of hormones is to help control when or how often our cells multiply and any changes can interrupt or interfere with this delicate process that in turn can lead to diseases such as cancer.
Our cells take direction from our hormones which communicate to the cells what action to take. When these hormones reach unnaturally high levels, they increase the risk of some cancers by encouraging the cells to multiply more than they normally would.
It’s no secret anymore that hormones are linked to the development of cancers that include prostate, testicular, breast and womb. Continue reading
